Welcome to our web site! Here, you will find information about our organization (we have 1,200 members representing every state plus the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Japan) and information about the peer specialist profession. Membership is changing in 2012, and open to anyone interested in peer support and our annual conferences draw attendees from throughout the country.

I have been engaged in my own recovery journey for eight years. I have found being a peer specialist the most rewarding job I've ever had.

Peer specialists are rapidly growing in number and NAPS has emerged as their voice at the state and federal levels. It is indeed exciting to see growth in peer support and our organization at the same time.  In 2011, the NAPS National Conference was held in Raleigh, North Carolina where we had a great turnout and many exciting workshops and presentations. Next year the conference is planned for Philadelphia. We hope to see you there!
