The purpose of this organization is to increase the popularity of hiring peer specialists. We hope to add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to have fun while  we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger.
Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach.

As a member of NAPS, you may be eligible to receive specialized training and certification. You may also be able to learn about job opportunities in your area and advocate for consumers.

NAPS' consumers subscribe to the National Association of Social Workers' Code of Ethics. This code lays out the rules for interactions with clients and is critical in defining the roles between mental health professionals and their clients.

We believe peer specialists offer an often untapped resourse to the mental health system. As a national organization, we strive to make peer specialists an important component in mental health treatment.
